Photos inside an Indian Cricket Batmaking factory.
A couple of years ago, I took the opportunity to fly out to India and spend approximately 2 months working inside a cricket bat factory in Meerut. Coming into the factory everyday was always an experience as was spending time in the factory itself. The choking wood dust from the workers frantically hand sanding every bat. The constant cutting out of lights, as Meerut experiences yet another power cut and the sight of willow everywhere was one that I’ll never forget.
Here’s a selection of photos from inside the factory. Also re-editing an earlier video I produced showing the process from start to finish, which I’ll upload here at a later date.
