Here’s some pre-launch photos courtesy of Nick Lawson (@Lawse on twitter), one of the owners of Mongoose Cricket. The formal ToRQ launch is on Monday at Lord’s featuring Trescothick and Gareth Andrew.

With white stickers, a ‘mini-splice’ and mid placed middle it’s a change from the CoR3 and Mmi3 from last season. What are your thoughts?

  1. I have the original CoR3 Pro that bat has no Splice, it’s made from a single piece of wood, do you know what is the difference that is made with splice and why the newer versions include Splice? I also got custom Pro this year and it had a splice but after playing 3 matches the bat broke in 2 pieces. It was supposed to be the highest quality willow. You can view the pictures of my Mongoose on my website GalaxyUnitedcc.Com the pictures are on Banner main page they rotate.

    • Hi Asif,

The original CoR3 did have a splice, but it is hidden below the grip and binding. For 2011 they’ve just brought the splice down 2″ lower so it is very slightly visible.

I don’t know the reasons behind it, but it is a design change for 2012. The CoR3 bat profile has also changed for 2012. The bat pictured above is the new ToRQ, a new full length bat from Mongoose.
