Pup on the market
During his stunning innings in the current Australia vs India test,of 251 unbeaten, Michael Clarke has been using a blank bat. His long standing partnership with Slazenger was ended on December 31st 2011.
Michael has been signed to Slazenger since he was 12 years old, meaning he has been using and endorsing Slazenger bats for the past 18 years! Who Clarke will sign for now is anyones guess, Puma and Adidas have emerged as the early front runners but could Clarke be the latest player to move to a Sub-Continent brand following in the footsteps of Chris Gayle? Whoever he signs for had better have deep pockets, after this knock Clarke will no doubt command a hefty price tag.
Slazenger Australia also announced a brand new range that will be available from July 2012, stay tuned to Cricket Insight for the first pics and news.
EDIT: It has come to our attention that Puma require sponsored players to wear their own brand cricket shoes but Clarke already has a contract with Asics so that rules Puma out of the race.

it would be strange if it was adidas as there have been rumours they will stop making bats from next year. Puma or CA are my guesses. if its an aussie brand though maybe it will be Kooks.
Puma look like the front runners to me… unless a small unknown brand comes in with a big offer?
He can’t sign with Puma because they require contracted players to wear their footwear, however he has an Asics footwear specific contract. Kookaburra, Gunn & Moore or Gray-Nicolls are the real front-runners as they can afford the price he is asking.
Nice, thanks for the info!
He has 100% signed for Puma. he cant wear their gear until the end of the aussie season
All the bat companies are broke, so no gm, kookaburra and gray nicks cant afford him.
Puma is the done deal
