Paul Collingwood asked Slazenger to build him a bat weighing more than 4lb, about twice the weight of a normal blade to use in the nets.

Collingwood, a member of England’s Ashes winning squad, has joined the Perth Scorchers for the Big Bash League, and uses the bat to help build arm strength and improve bat speed when he returns to a standard weight bat. During his first session he stunned the local Australian lads by producing cricket’s version of the Big Bertha golf club.
